INTRO & MANDATE
The VAV Gallery is a student-run exhibition space operated primarily
by and for undergraduate students. The gallery aims to showcase the excellence
and diversity of visual arts produced at Concordia.
The VAV often hosts an artist's introductory exhibition experience and
thereby serves as an integral component of professional education and
development. The VAV provides resources to develop individual application
packages as well as volunteer opportunities for administrative and archival
tasks.
PROGRAMMING
Exhibits are held September to July through biweekly programming. As
well as the regular exhibition schedule, the VAV also hosts a variety
of special events and projects throughout the year. These include workshops,
lectures, panel discussions, the Art Matters festival and the Annual Undergraduate
Show. Additionally, an artists’ catalogue will be introduced for
the 2007/2008 programming year.
GETTING INVOLVED
We are currently seeking volunteers who have a strong interest in writing
about the fine arts to contribute to our artists’ catalogue. For
more information, please e-mail vav@alcor.concordia.ca
