wedding cake. Saturday , April 07th , 2018 - 12:53:24 PM
Victorian England has brought us many of todays valued wedding traditions. For example, Queen Victoria herself is said to have had a cake that weighed in at 300 lbs. As confectioners and bakers became more daring and skillful, their creations became even more daring and elaborate. When Englands Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip were married back in 1947, their wedding cake weighed in at a whopping 500 lbs, and was 9 feet tall.
As a result the size of the cake should be determined by the number of guests who will attend the wedding reception and the number of guests who cannot. Certainly it will be totally a waste if the cake is too big and the cake cannot be shared among the guests if it is too small.
As a young lass (or lad) growing up, youre probably used to cake at parties. After all, a birthday party without cake and candles is really just a get together in my book. That said, for the grandest of your parties, you must have the grandest of all cakes!
